Tomorrow, the middle day of my week off from work, is my designated bureaucracy day. It is the day I shall finish my application to get into UNSW to finish my teaching degree. It is also the day I shal send of my application for advanced standing to UNE, which I applied for in case I don’t get into UNSW. It is also the day that I shall apply for 3 substantive APS 4 positions at my current place of employment, applications which should be easy as the positions are largely the same and have the same selection criteria. Sure, there are only five things to do, and a whole day to do them in, but they are five bureaucratic things, dealing with some of the oldest bureacracies in Australia - the public service, the postal service, the universities - so it’ll probably take a lot longer.
