So it seems we’re stuck with same Labor government in NSW as the last 12 years. Oh well. Sure everyone, including the opposition leader, fully expected it, but I can’t help feeling a smidge disappointed with the whole election. And not because the Libs didn’t win. *Shudder* That would have been terrible. But I was hoping for a few more upsets. Like a Greens win in the seat of marrickville*. Or a bigger swing away from Joe Tripodi in my old electorate of fairfield, a swing larger than the state wide swing of 5% away from the Labor. A bigger swing towards the Greens in my new electorate of Heffron. Or a bigger swing to the Greens on a state wide basis (I was hoping for 4%, i got about .7%). But nope. Nothing. Nada. It seems that when people are disaffected with the current government, but don’t want to move right, they’d rather stick to the same old same old then go a bit left. Shame NSW, you got what you deserve.
*Oh marrickville, you taunt me with your leftness. I watch you from my balcony, sitting there across the railway. I see you toy with the idea of a Greens candidate in the Legislative Council. I know the way you flirt with radical progressiveness. Oh marrickville you tease, you hussy of an electorate, how I long to be within you!

Better the devil you know…
