Cool things

So tonight I ate dinner in the dark as the lights in my house were turned off for earth hour. I had originally planned to be in the city to take photos of the dark buildings, but that didn’t pan out. Instead, I looked at the city from afar as I used the window sill of the window of my bedroom as a table, and ate my thai food by the orange glow of the streetlights. The city didn’t look much darker than normal, but it was nice to see all the people going for a night time stroll over to sydney park, and the punks all heading over to fire twirl in the dark.

Afterwards, when the lights came back on, I spent two hours cleaning up my house in a whirlwind of putting clothes away, disposing of masses of paper (into the recycling bin of course) and taking out our normal recylcing stuff to the bins. This ment four trips back and forth down the stairs to our bins, as well as en extra trip for the non-recyclable waste. Then I replaced a burnt out light globe with an energy efficient one!

So after my tidying rampage (which didn’t include the kitchen benches or the coffee table but did include the bathroom) I sat down to watch a little tv. I got to see the end of RockWiz (which shits all over spicks and specks) and got to see Lior and Serena Ryder sing Heart of Gold, which was incredible. I’ve never loved that song til now, they have amazing voices. So I highly recommend both Serena Ryder and Lior.

And then I went scrounging around the internet and found this awesome pic of diode sex on BoingBoing. It’s awesome.
