…you remember "Professor Poopsnaggle’s Steam Zeppelin"?

It was my favourite show at the time. If you have the rights to it, and haven’t destroyed the original footage, please bring it out on dvd.

Oh the thinks that I think.

Did anyone notice Perez Hilton was in town, like, just last week or something? Didn’t think so.

I took the plunge and headed over to his blog, with is pretty damn funny, sometimes. I love his use of microsoft paint. Upon reading I discovered that he came down with the flu while here, which is when I remembered that he’d been here, and simultaneously explained why he wasn’t splashed over the gay press that week. I don’t think anyone saw him, except, um, straight people, who don’t count. ’tis a shame really, cuz boy’s a hottie, and he’d totally get along well with my mum, you know, when we meet and he falls in love with me.

Speaking of things no one noticed, Missy Higgins and Tori Amos released new albums on the same day in Australia the other week. Appearently everyone who bought one also bought the other at Hum in Newtown, so much so that the sales assistant remarked upon it when I bought mine. But come on, two whiney, quirky, alternative female singers release albums on the same day and someone in newtown is suprised hordes of neurotic gay men are buying both albums? My response; der.

Okay, so I don’t know the exact demographics of who bought those albums, but really, come on, do you really think I’m wrong? Didn’t think so.

I heart Perez

I heart Tori

I heart Missy

I still heart Monica Attard most of all. 5 sleeps til the next Media Watch.

I heart Monica Attard

I’ve recently rediscovered Media Watch on the ABC. I used to watch as a "concerned teen" but stopped when Stuart Littlemore left and I discovered, um, life.

Anyway, monday’s have become my regular TV watching night, mainly because I like Brothers & Sisters, and it’s been a joy to find Media Watch on at 9.20pm, nestled snuggly in the ten minutes before Brothers & Sisters. And Monica Attard is fantastic to watch. I love the sardonic lift of her brow, and the slightly incredulous questioning tone of her voice. She reminds me of a mother who, rather than punishing her child directly for breaking a rule, is subtly crafting a situation in which her wayward child punishes themselves, all the while watching with her lips pursed as if to say "Do you think appropriate?"

She makes me crave to live up to her exacting standards.
