Dear June, Bite me.

Oh gosh, June was a difficult month, wasn’t it? Moving house, cousin kicking it, compo claim processing, friends or relatives of friends kicking it too, no time etc. It’s all been a bit struggle struggle struggle down on struggle street. But July is here in a windy flourish and peeps are taking stock, as if to say "In your face, June!" So here is my list, of the best things of June.

1) New house! It such a relief to be away from the old neighbours. I’m still heamorraging money from the move like there’s no money clotting agent, but; New house! and an actual house, with a back yard and two frangipani trees, and many many tiny little succulents.

2) Fbi. My new friend. Oh Fbi, beloved community radio station, you play such awesome music, and i love how your presenters speak with such whimsy about this city. You’re the bee’s knees.

3) Mr J. You were here briefly, but it was you who filled me with the optimism to get through June without noticing how much it was sucking til people sat me down and told me "June really sucks," and I had to go "Oh yeah, it does." You were my bright interesting creative arty bookends to the month, and kissing you was more than delighful.

4) My book of gay murder stories. An awesome find in a second hand bookshop. Delightfully disturbing reading that sets a perfect counter point to the winter chill. This book totally makes me want to write actual stories again.

5) I gots me into that gosh-darn brand spankin’ new law talkin’ course down with all dem fancy folks at UTS. Should be a right hoot.

So there June, in your face!
